What This Service Includes

Getting a DXF file that cuts cleanly first time requires more than a simple export. AGX Engineering produces DXF flat patterns that are geometry-checked, layer-structured to your machine operator's requirements, and verified against the source model before delivery — so your nest is clean, your cut quality is consistent, and your scrap rate stays low.

We work from SolidWorks or Inventor models, AutoCAD drawings, or client-supplied dimensions. Flat patterns are unfolded with correct bend allowances for your material and tooling. Complex profiles, slots, holes, and notches are all included in the output. We can also produce DXF layouts for laser-cut signage, decorative screens, and custom panel work.

Common Questions

What DXF version and units do you export in?
We export in AutoCAD 2010 DXF by default, in millimetres. If your cutting machine or nesting software requires a specific DXF version, unit, or layer naming convention, let us know and we will configure the export accordingly.
Can you correct DXF files we already have?
Yes. We regularly repair DXF files that have open polylines, splines instead of arcs, wrong scale, or incorrect geometry — converting them into clean, cut-ready files.
Do you account for bend allowance when unfolding sheet metal?
Yes. Flat patterns are unfolded with the correct K-factor or bend allowance for your material and tooling. We will ask for your material thickness, grade, and bend radius so the flat pattern is accurate for your press brake.
Can you produce DXF files for laser-cut decorative screens or signage?
Yes. We produce DXF files for decorative screen panels, laser-cut lettering, and custom profile work — drawing the geometry from your brief, logo, or reference artwork.
