Drawing Revisions & Production Documentation

Keeping your drawings accurate and your production moving

Overview

What This Service Includes

Engineering drawings go out of date. Designs change, suppliers are substituted, dimensions are updated, and manufacturing processes evolve — but the drawings often lag behind. AGX Engineering provides a fast, professional drawing revision service that keeps your documentation accurate and your production team working from the right version.

We also produce production documentation from scratch where drawings are missing or have never existed — converting handwritten notes, worn-out prints, sample parts, or institutional knowledge into clear, reproducible CAD drawings that any fabricator can work from.

Who This Service Is For

  • Manufacturers working from outdated or hand-marked prints
  • Companies that inherited equipment with incomplete or no drawings
  • Fabricators who need drawings corrected after production changes
  • Workshop managers building a formal drawing register from scratch
  • Operations teams needing as-built documentation after installation

How We Work

Our Process

A clear, predictable engagement from first contact through to final deliverable.

  1. 1

    Document Review

We review your existing drawings, notes, and any markup annotations to understand exactly what needs to change — confirming scope and revision numbering before work begins.

  2. 2

    Revision & Redraw

Changes are incorporated into the CAD model and drawings. New geometry is checked against your supplied information before the drawings are updated.

  3. 3

    Client Check

A draft revised set is issued for your review. We address any further changes promptly — most revision review cycles close within 24 hours.

  4. 4

    Issue & Archive

Final revised drawings are issued with a transmittal record. We retain working files so future revisions are fast and consistent with your existing drawing standards.

FAQ

Common Questions

What drawing formats can you revise?
We work with AutoCAD DWG, SolidWorks drawing files, PDFs (we redraw from the PDF), and scanned paper drawings. If you have a legacy format we have not listed, send it through and we will confirm whether we can work with it.
What if the original drawing is only available as a scanned paper print?
We redraw from the scan — recreating the geometry in CAD so you end up with an editable, dimensioned drawing rather than a static image. We confirm dimensions against the scan and flag any areas where the resolution or condition of the original scan makes a dimension unclear.
Can you update drawings when a design change is made partway through production?
Yes. Mid-production drawing updates are a common request and we handle them quickly. Provide the markup or description of what changed and we will turn the revision around, typically within one to two business days.
Do you maintain a drawing register for ongoing clients?
Yes. For clients with a regular volume of drawing revisions, we maintain a drawing register and file archive so that every update is tracked, versioned, and retrievable — reducing the risk of the wrong revision reaching the workshop floor.
